Wood is currently recruiting for a Subcontracts Lead - PNG to join our team in the Melbourne Office.

Responsibilities 

• Personal safety and working within the provisions and guidelines of the overall Company HSE policies and procedures
• Develop the HSE culture within the supply chain to ensure no damage or harm to people
• Ensure that all statutory and legal requirements and procedures are complied with and all actions are auditable, also maintaining the highest personal, professional and ethical standards
• Management of subcontracting process and provision of guidance and direction to the reporting personnel in all aspects of subcontracting activities ensuring that all dealings with subcontractors are carried out in accordance with the Wood core values, the Wood Code of Ethics and the Wood processes and procedures
• Leading negotiations and provision of support to functional personnel on contractual negotiations and claims to ensure the best commercial terms for the Company are obtained
• Development of subcontract strategies for projects and the wider business to ensure best commercial and technical solution for Wood and Clients
• Ensuring special conditions flow down from main contracts to minimise Wood exposure
• Development, implementation and management of incentive schemes and Key Performance Indicators
• Overseeing and participating in the full range of post award activities including; performance management and reporting, cost reporting, audits, negotiation of rate escalations and other associated issues
• Ensuring processes and systems for gathering, maintaining, filing, analysing and reporting information on all aspect of subcontracting, including planning and cost efficiencies are in place and complied with.
• Management of Subcontracts information for inclusion in Proposals in support of the Sales and Business Development team.
• Reviewing and assisting with implementation of global and local Subcontract processes and procedures and communication to relevant personnel.
• Liaison with various internal customers (Site Supervisors, Assignment/Project Managers, Engineers) in commercial management, problem solving and dispute resolution with subcontractors
• Supervision, mentoring and support of subcontracts personnel and provision of advice to project personnel

Skills / Qualifications

• Skills typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in business administration, commerce, quantity surveying, or similar discipline, or an equivalent level of work experience
• In addition to an undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience, the individual should have extensive and varied work experience in the industry which would allow understanding of and exposure to key subcontracting or procurement concepts and principles
• PNG/International Subcontracts experience preferred (but not essential)
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills

• Experience in Oracle is preferred.
