Rope Access Technicians - Ichthys Project

Our multidisciplinary service offering includes the traditional services of scaffolding, rope access, insulation, protective coatings & blasting and passive fire protection as well as specialist services such as refractory, asbestos management and advanced industrial cleaning and vaccumation of heat exchangers, pipes, tanks and vessels using high pressure water and chemicals.

The Project

JKC Australia LNG Pty Ltd (JKC) is a joint venture comprising JGC Corporation, KBR and Chiyoda Corporation. JKC is responsible for delivering the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the Ichthys Project onshore LNG facilities and related infrastructure on behalf of INPEX.

The Project, one of the world’s largest LNG developments, involves gas from the Ichthys Field in the Browse Basin off north-west Australia being exported to the onshore processing facilities in Darwin via an 890-km pipeline. The Ichthys LNG Project is expected to produce 8.9 million tonnes of LNG and 1.6 million tonnes of LPG per annum, along with approximately 100,000 barrels of condensate per day at peak over its 40-year life-span

The Cape Australia contract will supply painting, surface protection, insulation and scaffolding services to JKC as part of the Ichthys Project Onshore LNG Facilities which is located at Bladin Point, approximately 45km from Darwin CBD.

The Role and Requirements

We are seeking applications from suitably experienced and qualified Rope Access Technicians-Pipefitter (all levels) for opportunities to work in Darwin, Northern Territory. Working on a large-scale construction Project with a 4:1 roster. Darwin locals are encouraged to apply.

To be considered you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience, operating as a rope access technician
  • Previous experience operating in the below discipline;
  • Pipefitter
  • Relevant Trade Certificate
  • Experience working in large-scale construction environments within the Oil & Gas Industry
  • Current IRATA qualification
  • Relevant trade qualification (not essential)
  • Current Working at Heights (less than 2 years old)
  • Hold a nationally accredited OHS Card (White/Blue Card)
  • Ability to pass a project specific pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol screen
