ICD Asia Pacific Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of global services provider Broadspectrum, is a leading consultancy providing multidisciplinary engineering design, project and construction management services to the Refining, Oil & Gas, Mining, Water, Rail, Power and Process Manufacturing industries.
To meet our current and future business needs, we are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Senior Electrical/Instrument Engineer for our Sydney office.
Suitable Applicants will have:
- An engineering degree enabling full membership to Engineers Australia
- Minimum 10 years relevant experience in electrical/instrument and controls covering proposal preparation, conceptual engineering, feed, detailed engineering and commissioning/operations.
- A strong understanding of electrical/instrument engineering documentation including single line diagrams, schematics, termination drawings, protection drawings, P&ID's, etc.
- Experience working in a design office and the use of industry standard engineering software.
- Experience with power distribution design including earthing and protection systems.
- Experience managing design teams and co-ordinating design work.
- An understanding and experience in application of relevant industry standards and codes.
- A demonstrated ability to effectively work within a design team environment and with client representatives.
- A demonstrated ability to work independently on routine electrical/instrument and controls tasks.
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
- Strong self-motivation, time management and organisational ability.
- Permanent Residency of Australia.
The following are preferred but not essential:
- NER and/or RPEQ registration in Electrical.
- Competency in hazardous area classification and design to AS/NZS 4761.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Experience with ASP3 design.
- Site experience.
The successful applicant's duties will include:
- Be available when required to travel to client sites throughout Australia.
- The preparation of engineering design documents, specifications, drawings and scopes of work.
- Practical application of engineering skills to solve engineering problems.
- To be able to produce calculations required for the role that support design documentation, participate in HAZOPs & design reviews, check & approve discipline documents and also check interdisciplinary documents for compliance to client requirements and industry standards.
- Produce documentation deliverable's for inclusion in work packs on time to meet project deadlines for assigned packages and scopes of work.
- Bid and secure new work and establish relationships with clients.
- Co-ordination of electrical project teams for achieving the target and completion of engineering documentation within budget.
