About the role:
We are currently seeking an Underground Mechanical Superintendent at our Wambo Mine. Our Wambo mine complex is a combined open-cut and underground mine located 30 kilometers west of Singleton that produce metallurgical and thermal coal for export and domestic markets.
Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for providing and maintaining safe and fit for purpose mechanical equipment, safe work practises and competent people. You will also be responsible for overseeing strategic mechanical engineering activities, including projects and overhaul of equipment, at the underground and to provide mentoring and coaching to maintenance staff.
The lifestyle:
This position is offered on a Monday to Friday roster and will allow for a residential or DIDO lifestyle.
About you:
Critical to your success will be:
- Relevant Mechanical Trades and Mechanical Engineering qualifications
- Minimum 10 years Mining experience (ideally in underground coal engineering/maintenance role)
- Possess, or In the process of obtaining, an underground mine mechanical engineers certificate of competency
- S1, S2, S3 and G2 & G3 competencies
- Ability to coach and influence others
- Continuous Improvement methodology
- Previous supervisory and management experience
- Equipment reliability trending analyst experience
- Exposure to CMMS (SAP) systems
- A strong commitment to high Health, Safety and Environment workplace standards
