Oil Search Limited is one of Australia’s premier oil & gas exploration and development companies, established in Papua New Guinea in 1929 and with a corporate office in Sydney. Following the successful delivery of the world class PNG LNG project, Oil Search is now working closely with its joint venture partners on the next phase of LNG development in PNG.
The Commercial, Strategy and Planning team is looking for a talented Senior Commercial Analyst who can support the company’s growth initiatives and improve the quality of investment decisions through the identification, evaluation and comparison of investment alternatives.
Responsibilities:
- Champion development of decision-driven frames and economic analysis work-plans across the business
- Ensures information used for evaluations is of sufficient quality and consistency
- Able to interface across broad range of functions and levels
- Recognized ability to model varied and complex fiscal regimes across the value chain and project lifecycle
- Serves as consultant to other analysts and provides modelling guidance and quality assurance
- Highly skilled in structuring and conducting deterministic and probabilistic economic evaluations. Provides evaluations guidance and QA to other analysts
- Able to provide effective framing and analysis for new business opportunities, including M&A
- Provides guidance on the application of fit-for-purpose economic work
Requirements:
We are interested to speak with Commercial Analysts at all stages of their career. We just ask that you:
- Hold Tertiary qualifications in finance economics, business or engineering
- Have minimum 5 experience in oil & gas and economic evaluations
- Can demonstrate your understanding of the upstream O&G industry, including understanding of a range of international fiscal regimes
- Strong financial evaluation and modelling expertise, including high level of competence with Microsoft Excel
- Are able to frame investment decisions in a way which answers critical questions and identifies key insights
More experienced applicants will also be able to demonstrate:
- 3+ years of experience supporting LNG projects development decisions
- Experience in influencing highly skilled and capable professionals at senior management level
- Capability to mentor less experienced analysts in short term projects
