About the Role
  
Manage and develop grid connections strategies and grid innovation. Support Engineers within the Technical team in relation to grid matters and work closely with the key stakeholders.

Duties

• Identify and unlock opportunities including those in the transmission and distribution networks
• Support grid negotiations for individual projects to minimise commercial and technical risks
• Develop and deploy innovative solutions to multi-technology connections (wind, solar and storage)
• Work with the grid team to develop grid strategy and provide guidance on grid connection offer/modification process
• Evaluate and participate in the negotiation of grid connection methodologies with the responsible NSP, asset owner, AEMO, regulators and other key stakeholders
• Provide grid related inputs to project financial models and provide input to long-term strategic planning process and complete grid feasibility studies for new ventures

Skills & Experience

• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Understanding of Policy development in the area of power systems regulation and design, and ability to interface with key stakeholders
• Strong understanding of power system design and proven experience of network planning and key NSP issues
• Proven technical and commercial experience in the management of grid connections at a distribution or transmission level, particularly in relation to grid CAPEX, transmission and distribution charges
• Excellent ability to network and nurture relationships with external grid providers
• Experience in the Renewables market in Australia (ideally in wind energy)
