About the role:
We are currently seeking an Environment and Community Manager at our Wambo. Our Wambo mine complex is a combined open-cut and underground mine located 30 kilometers west of Singleton that produce metallurgical and thermal coal for export and domestic markets.
Reporting to the General Manager, the scope of your role will be to assume site wide responsibility for the managing the environmental performance of the mine. You will be responsible for the continued development and implementation of environmental systems to ensure the operation complies with all the legislative, policy and regulatory requirements. In this position you will be responsible for coaching and leading the environment and community team onsite.

This position is offered on a Monday to Friday and allows for a residential or DIDO lifestyle.
About you:
- 5+ years operational experience within the environmental field
- Bachelor degree in Environmental Engineering / Environmental Science or other relevant discipline
- Demonstrated ability to manage environmental and community matters, while ensuring compliance with all legislative, policy and regulatory requirements.
- Previous experience in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Environmental Management Systems
- Knowledge of rehabilitation and environmental monitoring programs
- Project and contractor management experience
- The ability to communicate well at all levels of the organisation, with excellent verbal and written skills
