Senior Trading Analyst urgently required for the Corporate Services team of this major energy player. This permanent position will be based in our Client’s Brisbane Head Office.
You will be tasked with providing expert analytical support for the optimisation of trading performance through delivering: physical market and forward market analytics, analysis that supports the development of trading strategies, identification of trading opportunities, pricing of trading products, and the development of tools that facilitate informed trading decisions.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Manager Analytics to appropriately prioritise and ensure the delivery of analytical support to the Trading team
- Maintains an in-depth understanding of company revenue streams and supporting trading systems
- Identifies system improvements to deliver improvements and efficiency gains for divisional trading activities and analysis and reporting requirements
- Designs, develops and improves tools that support traders to optimise revenue outcomes
- Ensures appropriate verification of models and quality assurance of trading system tools / components to ensure high quality quantitative advice and integrity of outputs
- Provides quantitative analysis to inform contract trading decision making, and facilitate real-time physical trading decision making
- Maintains commitment to goals in the face of obstacles and frustrations
Key requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role in a trading environment
- Previous experience in utilising and enhancing trading tools and IT systems within a trading environment
- Very strong quantitative analytical experience
- Degree level qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Information Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
- Post graduate qualifications and/or AFMA accreditation highly desirable
