About the business and the role

Cirrus Power Systems (CPS) is a Gas Engine Servicing and Parts company based in Newcastle, NSW. CPS is a Joint Venture company between German based Firm August-Storm GmbH and Australian engine reconditioning firm Teterin Engineering based in Newcastle, NSW. 

We service the gas power generation market (reciprocating engines) with superior service works, engineering, overhauling  and parts offerings for European engine types including Jenbacher,  MWM, Deutz, MAN and MTU engines.
We are an OEM-independent company gaining market momentum and are experiencing rapid growth.

We are looking for an experienced Service technicians and service leading hands in the Newcastle and Sydney regions to join our team in maintaining and servicing engines and power plants using reciprocating engine systems. There is also opportunity for the right candidate to include business development and customer relations in the role to assist in growing our national footprint. 

 

 

Job tasks and responsibilities

The typical Duties and Tasks to be performed will include;

Undertaking preventative and breakdown maintenance primarily on Gas reciprocating engines used for Power Generation. The role will be a mixture of Field and workshop based works. the Successful candidate's role will include, but not be limited to;

  • Conducting scheduled and unscheduled service and maintenance work in a leading hand level. 
  • Diagnosing and correcting issues that arise on engines and engine systems. 
  • Conducting a mixture of Workshop and Field based overhauls and repairs on Engine and Engine Systems.
  • Capable and proven history of working in team and solo environments with success. 
  • Compile Work scope planning and job reports along with scheduling for servicing and asset maintenance. 
  • Customer relations and business development within the Sydney region when necessary.

The Successful Candidate will; 

  • Have a strong understanding of either (or both) engine mechanical maintenance and repair or power system electrical maintenance and repairs,
  • Have previous experience in similar maintenance or technical service role,
  • Have the proven ability to trouble shoot issues as they arise,
  • Have proven knowledge and passion for Engines and engine/electrical systems
  • Have a relevant trade qualification (Electrical Contractor, Mechanical Technician etc)
  • Prepared to Travel for work and training for short periods (up to 2 weeks) when needed.
  • Have an ability to read, review and interpret maintenance and repair manuals, engineering design drawings and wiring diagrams.

  • Work on a continual basis with the workshop controller and Parts manager to ensure effective management of work orders
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including the completion of documents and records as required.

 

 

Skills and experience

To be successful in your application,  you will ideally have:

  • Previous proven experience in a similar role with high level of engine maintenance and overhauling experience. 
  • Engine/ Electrical experience on Jenbacher and MWM/Deutz engines. 
  • Energetic, driven and a passion for excellence and quality products.
  • Exceptional and dynamic flair with mechanical and electrical works.
  • Sound skills in general administration, reporting and PC skills including exposure to ERP systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills coupled with ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy and multitasking
  • Understanding of the German language will be viewed favorably.
  • Self motivated and driven team player.
