An opportunity exists for an Underground Geologist to join our Technical Services Team based in Narrabri reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent.

You will be accountable for managing the geological and geotechnical mapping of the underground workings, collating geological information from SIS and UIS drilling, providing information and guidance to management and underground employees with regard to mining horizons, geological features, coal quality, provide input into outburst management, geological and strata reviews.

The underground geologist is also responsible for conducting audits of the processes, procedures and work under your control to determine their effectiveness, and implementing any improvements as required.

The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications, experience and qualities:

• Tertiary qualifications in Geology
• Extensive experience in a Underground Geologist role
• Experience in the coal mining industry
• Operational and project management experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Superior reasoning and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to a variety of tasks
