The Mine Site Construction Services Profile:

  • We specialise in Mining, Civil Engineering, Earthmoving and Quarrying Services.
  • We Operate throughout Australia with extensive operational and geographic experience.
  • We have successfully completed regional and remote contracts from Commonwealth, State and Local Government, Institutional Land Developers and Major Resource companies in the Mining Industry.

The role

We are seeking expressions of interest for a proactive, innovative and creative Senior Estimator /Technical Services Manager who can also oversee plus add value in the area of business development and expand new business and strengthen relationships with already established clients.

Based on your in-depth understanding of the Mining Services and Civil Earthworks industries, your activities will focus on expanding revenue streams while promoting and creating awareness of service capabilities. This is a key role within the Company and will be directly involved in achieving established business performance targets and identifying new business streams and opportunities, based on our unique strengths and capabilities.

Your core responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Preparation and submission of tenders, variations and expressions of interest.
  • Win new business and build relationships among existing and new customers.
  • Liaise with Company management, consultants, contractors and Clients on all pricing issues
  • Identify innovative ways to expand our services.
  • Estimating productivity, plant and manning requirements.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of industry trends, mining and civil engineering developments.
  • Define methodologies
  • Compile tender submissions, identify critical scopes of work within executed contracts and effectively manage scope variations.
  • Pre-tender contract reviews and site visits as required.
  • Effectively monitor contract performance and take decisive corrective action to maintain targets and minimise risk.
  • Ensure communication of contract requirements to key stakeholders is specific and targeted towards ensuring impressive service delivery and best in industry results.
  • Perform thorough due diligence in all contractual matters

Suitable applicants will have.

  • Tertiary Level qualifications in mining / civil engineering related disciplines or Surveying.
  • Preference for 10 or more years' experience in an Engineering/Estimating role in both Private and Public companies.
  • Exemplary knowledge and "Hands on" experience of Mining Services and Civil Earthworks Industries, client needs and equipment requirements.
  • Skilled in professional engineering and methods.
  • Demonstrated success in client relationship building, lead generation and the capacity to close sales and negotiate profitable business deals.
  • The capacity to think outside the square and devise innovative approaches and solutions to meet client needs.
  • Experience in project scoping, planning, scheduling, and delivery of contracts within the required time frames and within acceptable risk parameters.
  • Computer skills including MS Office plus Surpac, Talpac or similar modelling/planning software.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contract law and legislation relevant to Mining and Civil earthworks and construction.
