Senior Mine Geologist
Gascoyne Resources Limited (GCY) was listed on the ASX in December 2009 and is focused on exploration and development of several gold projects in Western Australia.
The Company's 100% owned gold projects combined have over 2.3 million ounces of contained gold on granted Mining Leases.
The company is now seeking applications from experienced professionals to undertake the role of Mine Geologist, based at our Dalgaranga Gold Project near Mount Magnet. Reporting to the Chief Mine Geologist, the focus of the Senior Mine Geologist role will be to ensure that all mine geology functions are carried out to a high standard in a timely manner, to ensure the safe, efficient and accurate achievement of the mine production targets.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supervise field personnel and contractors with respect to day to day drilling and mining activities.
- Ensure effective and accurate collection, compilation and interpretation of mine grade control drilling data, mapping data and assay results.
- Ensure all possible care is taken to define, estimate grade and extract the ore body
- Continuously strive to maximise high grade ore recoveries whilst minimising dilution
- Liaise with production and mine contractor staff to ensure optimal mining techniques and plans are utilised throughout the mine.
- Produce geological and geotechnical maps for use in the grade control, geotechnical and mine production/drill and blast functions.
- Utilise grade control and reserve estimation and monitoring procedures, and integrate them as part of the short and long-term mine planning functions.
- Collect daily grade and tonnage data, including stockpile tracking and mine to mill reconciliation.
This will be supported by the following qualifications, skills and characteristics;
- Minimum Bachelor level degree in Geology discipline.
- Open pit mining industry experience.
- Sound understanding of digital data collection and storage facilities.
- Current Open C Class Drivers Licence.
