The Company
Galaxy Resources Limited is an ASX listed lithium-focused resources company, with assets spanning Australia, Canada and Argentina. The Company owns the Mt Cattlin Spodumene Mine near Ravensthorpe in Western Australia.
The Mt Cattlin mine is an open pit mine providing ore feed to the recently expanded and refurbished 1.6 million ton per annum capacity processing plant.
The role
The company has position for a fixed plant Electrician to join the established team at the Mt Cattlin operations. Mt Cattlin provides a very pleasant work location near the south coast of WA with the nearby towns of Ravensthorpe and Hopetoun that offer an inviting combination of rural and coastal lifestyle. Relocation assistance will be offered with this position.
Your responsibilities will be to conduct electrical maintenance work on the mine site plant processing and associated equipment. Ensuring safe operations and all equipment is maintained at optimum levels. The position works a rostered 10-hour shift on a 9/5 roster. Main responsibilities include:
- Maintain electrical and instrumentation plant and equipment - including electric motors, lighting, switchboards, transformers, appliances, process instruments, variable speed drives, PLC hardware.
- Troubleshoot plant issues and breakdowns
- Conduct regular statutory inspection and testing of electrical equipment to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and P&IDs.
- Reporting of all hazards
Desirable Tickets:
- Electrical Trade qualification
- Western Australian unrestricted electrical licence – endorsed ‘Electrician'
- Maintenance of industrial, mining, and/or mineral processing electrical equipment
- Western Australian ‘C’ Class manual driver’s licence
- Experience in a CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System)
- High Risk Work Licence – WP (Work Platform)
