The Role

We are seeking an experienced self motivated Maintenance Leading Hand to join the Drill & Blast team at our Edna May Operations. This position is on an 8 days on 6 days off roster from Perth.

 

The individual will assist in the daily management of the workshop and provide leadership to maintenance and support staff. They will act as the point of contact between the supervisor and the maintenance team in the safe and efficient delivery of projects and business goals.

A working knowledge of Atlas and Sandvik rigs would be an advantage. Own tooling required, site specific tools will be supplied.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing scheduled drill servicing across Atlas Copco D65/L8/ Sandvik DP1500 & Dpi Drill Rigs
  • Cat Telehandlers and IT Loaders
  • Performing unscheduled repairs
  • Volvo FM Series Trucks
  • Lighting Towers, Generators and Air Compressors
  • Toyota Light Vehicles
  • Service, repair and maintain the above equipment in pit & workshop environments
  • Diagnose & fault find issues with pneumatic, hydraulic & 12/24v electrical systems
  • Identify and source parts to carry out repairs
  • Liaison with OEM’s & suppliers on technical issues
  • Training & support to other SRG employees

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Hold a Mechanical Trade Certificate
  • Supervisory or team leader experience
  • Computer literacy and excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A team-oriented, training and safety focus
  • Pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol assessment
  • Hold a current drivers license – HR would be advantageous
  • High level of multitasking, prioritization & time management skills
  • Previous experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System ideally MEX
