Brunel is a world leader in providing strategic labour solutions successfully to our client base across the oil & gas, mining, resources, marine, rail & construction sectors.

Currently we have a client that is seeking an experienced Mining Engineer to commence with their Pilbara based operations immediately.

Our client is a Global Leading Iron Ore producer that owns/manages some of the largest mines in Australia.

Due to growth, an opportunity exists for an experienced Mining Engineer to come in and embed themselves within the site-based team effective immediately for minimum 6-9 months.

Reporting to the Principal Mining Engineer, you will be required to provide technical support & deliver plans using Vulcan, data analysis and present plan outputs clearly articulating key milestones.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • High emphasis and focus on HSE culture
  • Review & develop mine design, scheduling & haul analysis
  • Provide technical and contractual support to the operational teams
  • Development and review of mining procedures
  • Mine, pit & dump designs

Qualifications and skills desirable:

  • Relevant Engineering tertiary qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in short term mine planning
  • Mining experience in hard rock applications
  • Understanding of system constraints and bottlenecks ensuring consideration and endorsement as required in the plan
  • Knowledge of relevant Mines legislations and regulations
  • Working knowledge of Vulcan
  • High level knowledge of Excel
