• Be a key part of shaping one of the world’s most significant greenfields underground projects • Wide range of exposure and development opportunities within a skilled technical team • Residential major city base with moderate international travel - Brisbane About the role We are looking for a Senior Underground Ventillation Specialist to provide mine ventilation designs, plans and project services leadership for medium-range project execution and life-of-mine operations. This role is a great opportunity join the Brisbane based Mine Planning & Technical team in building one of the world’s most exciting underground mining projects. Reporting to the Planning & Scheduling Superintendent, you will be: • Preparing quarterly ventilation designs and plans, integrated within the mining execution plan. • Providing ventilation support and leadership to the site execution team • Leading the Quarterly mine services planning and coordination work with key stakeholders and integrating this with the Quarterly mining schedule • Completing Life-of-Mine ventilation modelling. • Coordinating the production ramp-up risk management. • Completing ventilation infrastructure planning • Completing Mine air heating and cooling planning, dust and health planning About you To be successfully considered for this role, you will have: • A Mining Engineering degree • Demonstrated practical underground ventilation and mining experience • Demonstrated experience in ventilation planning, both medium-range and long-range • Experience in cave mining or mass mining • Solid understanding of mine development, construction and mine services interactions • Highly effective communication and stakeholder management skills Where you will be working The Growth & Innovation group operates through the entire life cycle of Rio Tinto’s mines and assets, creating value through exploration, project development and technical excellence.
