Batchfire Resources Pty Ltd is an Australian private company that owns and operates the Callide thermal coal mine near Biloela in Central Queensland. Callide Mine has significant recoverable coal reserves, long-term supply contracts and a growth trajectory to ensure its long-term future.

Location: Callide Mine, Biloela, CQ.

The Manager Environment & Community supports Callide mine operations by achieving sustained environmental performance, cost-effective rehabilitation outcomes and constructive relationships with neighbours, community and other external stakeholders.

Reporting to the General Manager Operations & SSE, key result areas include:

  • Efficient discharge of all Callide Mine EA, permit and licence obligations
  • Foster constructive relationships with neighbours, broader community and external stakeholders
  • Meet obligations of CHMP’s whilst maintaining good relationships with indigenous landowners
  • Establish standards for disturbance rehabilitation and lead processes to reduce liabilities
  • Assist Development team with MLA & EA processes to support growth projects
  • Continuous refinement of Batchfire’s EMS
  • Lead a small team of professionals in a very busy environment

This role will appeal to an Environment and Community professional with a demonstrated record of successful leadership in the resources industry. Relevant formal tertiary qualifications in engineering or science are desirable. Personal attributes will include a resolute and systematic work ethic as well as exceptional stakeholder relationship, social process and interpersonal skills that value collaboration. The capacity to contribute effectively in a dynamic and accountable environment is essential.
