Overview
Reporting to the GM Health, Safety, Environment and Security, and working from our Melbourne Head Office, you will lead the development and implementation of Newcrest’s strategic vision for Health and Wellness. This will include developing the systems, processes and relevant standards, plans and programs to achieve first quartile health and wellness performance levels across our offshore and onshore operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the development and implementation of the Strategic vision for Health and Wellness at Newcrest. Develop the systems, processes and relevant standards, plans and programs to achieve the strategy
- Maintain, improve and provide assurance over Newcrest H&S Management Systems related to Occupational Health
- Support sites to develop a comprehensive, scientifically based health and wellness monitoring and management system
- Provide advice and recommendation on safety & health policy, legislative developments, and emerging best practice in the areas of Safety & Health.
- Provide support to site teams relating to the management of external occupational health services and contracts
- Working with the Principal Advisor Hygiene, ensure Alignment of occupational Hygiene and Health and wellness programs across all on and off shore operations.

About You
As a proven Health and Well-Being change agent, you will have significant operational experience in mining or heavy industry, implementing and developing programs that have achieved significant uplift in health and wellness performance. Ideally you will have worked with different cultures and across multiple sites.
With relevant tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and/or Hygiene, you will be respected by your peers for your innovation and willingness to challenge the status quo, judgement and collaborative approach to problems solving. You will also have the ability to understand, identify and report on key trends, influencing decision makers to Board level.
