An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Production Engineer to join our team at the Nifty Copper Operations. The role is offered on family friendly roster with flights provided from Perth, Western Australia.
Reporting to the Underground Mine Manager, you will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and implementing the mine production and mine plans in compliance with the Company’s standards.
The position’s requirements are as following:
- Develop and manage projects as directed by the Underground Mine Manager (and Alternate).
- Review and approve all production plans, including mine design, drill and blast designs, and maintain accurate records - including explosives management.
- Monitor and manage the actual Mine site’s performance for compliance and against targets, and propose and execute any corrective actions, as required.
- Develop and monitor compliance to budget, quarterly and weekly schedules.
- Liaise with the Underground Mine Manager (and Alternate) to ensure that all plans are complied with in a safe and effective manner.
- Monitor and report on mining performance, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Identify and manage potential risks to the delivery of budgeted underground physicals.
- Develop and execute strategies for dilution control and cost reduction.
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies between all teams and departments to establish and maintain a strong team based culture.
- Supervise and coach the Mining Engineers.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with the long term planning staff.
- Liaise with and manage the Mine site’s contractors.
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in mining engineering.
- WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency or have completed the underground practical experience, as required to obtain a WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency.
- Dangerous Goods Security Card.
- At least 8+ years experience in an underground mining environment.
- Advanced Surpac skills, EPS MineSched (highly desirable).
- High levels of both written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail with strong problem solving skills.
- Must have the ability to lead and work collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent technical report writing skills.
- Strong understanding of safety management.
- ·National Police Clearance.
- Unrestricted "C" class manual driver’s licence.
- You must be either an Australian citizen or a holder of an Australian permanent residency visa to be eligible to apply for this position.
