The Role:
A rewarding position is on offer where you will use your expertise within mining operations to drive process improvements, cost reduction and safety. You will have the opportunity to coach, mentor and guide a team of engineers within the operations and maintenance space of this major mining company.

• Take accountability for the performance of the team, promoting a culture of inclusion and feedback.
• Ensure effective communication with all stakeholders (internal and external)
• Actively pursue opportunities to reduce operating costs and increase productivity through the application of policies and procedures, business systems, human and financial resources.
• Develop, implement, maintain and provide governance around the portfolio of Mining improvement initiatives
• Lead investigations and analysis into safety, equipment downtime and production loss events using techniques to identify root cause and contributing factors
• Develop strategies for equipment productivity and safe outcomes and analyse data to prevent unplanned failures
• Build yearly operations budget inputs, business cases and perform routine periodical variance analyse throughout the year
• Apply safety, health and environmental principles and procedures in a workplace
• Actively participate in team engagement and collaboration sessions to ensure that the integration of ideas and activities can be optimised to drive sustainable value add to the organisation and operations.
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively engage team members and communicate key business objectives
• Ability to analyse, review and recommend improvement opportunities from mining production data and operational processes
• Demonstrate knowledge of process improvement techniques such as Lean, Six Sigma and 5S methodologies
• Apply the organisation's code of conduct in a work environment

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification in Mining, Maintenance or Finance related disciplines or significant relevant industry experience
• Exposure to Business Improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean etc.)
• Exposure to incident investigation and material risk management processes
• 10yrs experience in a similar role within the mining industry
• Solid understanding of developing mining operating strategies and budgeting and forecasting
• Excellent analytical and investigative skills focusing on mining equipment operational and reliability performance and improving safety outcomes
• Proficiency in software such as SAP, Carlson, Matrikon, Downtime Data Analysis, Microsoft Office, Autodesk Inventor, Minecare, Xeras and Apollo RCA will be highly regarded
