CuDeco Limited owns and operates the 3.0Mtpa Rocklands Copper Mine situated near the town of Cloncurry, 121kms east of Mt Isa in N.W. Queensland.  CuDeco prides itself in being a regional employer of choice that supports the local community.

We currently have an opportunity for a Processing Manager with a proven track record in Copper and/or hard rock mineral operations to become an integral part of our Senior Management team.  

Reporting directly to the General Manager / Senior Site Executive, this role will lead the Process and Metallurgy teams in safely achieving optimum processing plant output. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering operational improvements and people development.  It is ideal for someone who is a self-starter with good communication skills and who enjoys a challenge.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Provide the short, medium and long term operational and production direction for the Processing Department to ensure maximum and sustainable profitability of the business
  • Direct operational input into the operation of the processing plant to ensure budget and forecast production targets are met
  • Lead the production work group to support all activities of the operations plan
  • Establish and maintain standards and procedures for the Processing Plant and any associated contractors or other service providers.
  • Oversee or support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of key process controls, operating systems, and metallurgical parameters to achieve desired outputs.
  • Succession planning and development of workforce through identifying skills gaps and putting in place appropriate training plans
  • Provide leadership to site processing, tailings disposal, and management activities whilst ensuring health, safety environmental and community relations standards are maintained.
  • Ensure adherence to statutory requirements as a minimum standard.
  • Promote active participation of employees in identifying, reporting, elimination of potential hazards.
  • Oversee the implementation of management initiatives and ensure appropriate alignment with the strategy and requirements of other departments.
  • Lead decision making whilst ensuring the employees are empowered to make decisions on issues with their competency.
  • Optimise the metallurgical and environmental performance of the process plant though monitoring, test work, procedural changes and process control and innovation.
  • Support the cost-effective achievement of monthly and annual production targets 9mill throughput, Cu recovery, plant availability in accordance with the business plan while adhering to company safety.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree in Processing, Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
  • Current unencumbered C Class driver license
  • 10 + years in metalliferous processing with exposure to crushers, grinding mills, floatation, and HPGR and tailings disposal
  • 5+ years supervisory experience
  • S1, S2, S3
  • Process Plant Management and Planning skills
  • Leadership and Mentoring Skills
  • Experience with ERP software (SAP, IFS, Oracle, Pronto)
  • A conviction that all injuries can be prevented
  • Strong and effective communication skills

 

The Processing Manager role is a permanent full-time position offering a competitive salary and benefits package based on a mutually agreed roster. Rocklands is a residential mine but FIFO arrangements may be considered for the right candidate from Townsville or Brisbane.
