The Company
A global tier one mining company with a broad portfolio of projects in open cut and underground mining.
The Project
An underground hardrock mining project in the Mt Isa region of QLD. Operating with a large fleet of UG mining equipment and sizable operations teams this site has been in production for over a decade.
The Location
Opportunity to relocate to Mt Isa in North West QLD and work in a busy mining town. With a population of over 22,000 people Mt Isa is destination for many mining workers to sleep in their own beds every night and progress their careers
Your Duties As A Geotechnical Engineer
- Geotechnical assessments & monitoring including design instillation & analysis of data
- Performance & review of face mapping of rock slopes & cuts and stabilisation measures
- Underground data collection & stability investigations
- Management of geotechnical projects
- Design development rehabilitation & cablebolt plans
- Technical report writing
What's Your Value
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering/ Geotechnical/ Engineering Geology/ Civil. Post grad in Rockmechanics will be desirable
- 3+ years' experience working in UG hardrock mining - essential
- Proficient with UG mining software
- Excellent communication skills both written & verbal
