About the Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Senior Mining Engineer will be tasked with providing a high level of technical skills, supervision and mentoring in relation to, Design, Mine Planning, Scheduling, Drill & Blast mining activities and departments onsite, ensuring the delivery of timely and accurate weekly schedules, monthly plans as well as safety and budgetary progress reports.
Key Criteria
- Bachelor Degree of Mining Engineering
- First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency (Ideally) or have completed the practical experience as required to obtain a First Class Mine Manager certification.
- Minimum of Six to Seven years’ experience working in the Australian, Mining and Resource environment, ideally within Open Pit mining operations
- At least Four to Five years experience as a Senior Mining Engineer
- Implement project KPIs as well as objectives and KPIs for work teams
- Providing technical and contractual support to project operational teams including Mine Engineering, Geology, Survey and Technical Services
- Strong commercial acumen, experienced with operational budgets and quarterly forecasts
- Manage the development and review of mining procedures
- Ability to compile and prepare mining contract valuation presentations
- Ability to conduct date analyses and prepare technical and operational project reports
- Foster and Implement a continuous improvement and innovation culture across the mining project
- High level of both written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- High attention to detail with strong problem solving skills
- Strong understanding of safety management
- You must be either an Australian citizen or a holder of an Australian permanent residency visa to be eligible to apply for this position.
