Seeking an experienced Senior Project Metallurgist to work in a processing plant in North West QLD.
Your new company
With operational sites in Queensland and across Australia, this mining house ensures strategic forward planning approaches are taken to its mining methods. This mining house situated in North Queensland requires an experienced Senior Project Metallurgist.
Your new role
As Senior Project Metallurgist you will be reporting directly to the Metallurgy Superintendent. You will be an integral leader of the Metallurgy team providing guidance and metallurgical support to the operational crews and resolving challenging technical and operational issues in order to optimise metal production rates throughout the plant. This role is based in North West QLD on either a FIFO or residential basis.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will need tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or Mineral Processing. At least 5 years experience and a strong background in project management, concentrator and/or smelter process improvements and compliance. This position requires you to have an ability to lead by example, communicate within your team and with all operational personnel in order to provide efficient scheduling of resources. You will have a solid ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives as well as ensure safe production on a daily basis. You will need to be competent with computer systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, Ellipse, TM1 and OSI Soft PI.
