We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Engineer to join the Developer Services team at Queensland Urban Utilities on a contract for up to 12 months. This role will suit an energetic Engineering graduate who has a few years’ experience in design, possibly within utilities or consulting.
The purpose of this role is to assess property development applications and operational works designs to enable the water approval process. You‘ll also deliver effective and efficient asset planning and network management for our water and sewerage infrastructure and assets.
In particular, this varied role will see you:
- Evaluate and assess proposed asset designs
- Assess, review and provide advice on operational works designs and respond to technical enquiries from the Development Enquires team and, on occasion, from customers
- Review and consider design variations and compile and review technical reports and formulate recommendations on Developer Services matters
- Assess water and wastewater network infrastructure requirements and impacts
- Undertake network modelling and master planning activities to assess capacity impacts on our network
To succeed, you’ll need to have well developed analytical skills related to planning, design, development processes and infrastructure planning. You’ll be a strong communicator, able to provide technical information in a clear way to customers and stakeholders and able to write report and submissions with ease. And you’ll be comfortable using GIS, Ellipse, CAD, web portals and other engineering software (Water CAD , Info works etc). However it will be your energy and enthusiasm to keep learning that will see you thrive!
