About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Mining you will be primarily responsible for leading and developing the new Mine Services Team to manage road maintenance, intersection and traffic standards compliance and project work to support the mining sequence and the optimum safe cycle times through our haulage network. Key responsibilities include:
  • Participate within the Mining Production Department to develop business plans consistent with site strategies / plans 
  • Lead, coach and mentor employees to deliver on plan and build a high performing team
  • Set and clearly communicate targets and expectations aligned with site and Mining Production Department
  • Develop, communicate and execute the Mine Services work plan and allocate resources to ensure delivery
  • Sustainable systems maintained and executed for major road and civil works
  • Implementation and compliance with WAIO Traffic Management standards and procedures
  • Execution of all civil, drill preparation, and roadworks based on plans provided 
  • Monitor and report against the Mine Services work plan and report unplanned and non-routine activity or performance 
  • Provide input into short / medium-term planning to ensure accuracy
  • Support best practice through developing and embedding of functional systems, monitoring key performance measures and sustaining continuous improvement processes
  • Assist in identifying and implementing initiatives that contribute to current and potential value to the business 
About You
As the successful candidate, you will ideally possess the following:
  • Significant experience leading large teams in a mining operation
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead change and motivate 
  • Highly collaborative team player with capability to build key relationships with various stakeholder groups
  • Proven experience delivering and meeting accountabilities
  • Quarry Manager Certificate or eligible to qualify for WA Unrestricted Quarry Managers certificate is advantageous
  • Working knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection Act & Regulations
  • Minimum of C class manual drivers licence
Location 
You will be based at our ‘Jimblebar’ mine site on a fly-in fly-out 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off, 9 days on, 5 days off roster (or similar depending on preference). Jimblebar is a fully automated mine site and is located 40kms North East of Newman, Western Australia. The outstanding facilities at Warrawandu FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, golf driving nets, outdoor cinema, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court; beach volleyball court, games room, music room and TV lounge. All rooms at the village have access to 3G wireless internet and Skype, an ensuite bathroom, flat screen television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
