About the Role:


Sustainable Development, HSEC and Business Conduct:

Ensure an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.

Ensure conformance with the BHP Billiton Charter, the BHP Billiton Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.

Provide alignment and support for the Systems Integration and Automation team at Operational Sites and NPI locations in respect to safe systems of work. Ensure all on-site work adheres to operational requirements such as management of change, permits to work, training, site supervision, field leadership, etc. and that risk assessments are identified and completed.

Oversee the practices that ensure compliance with the requirements of mines safety acts and/or regulations in accordance with the relevant country, state, region or county.

Automation - Technical:

Work with line customers to identify and understand the business readiness requirements for automation

Deliver a sustainable strategy for site readiness and training

Define the value proposition for initiatives to improve readiness: define and measure the key value drivers to ensure project is value accretive

Support cost effective, operable, maintainable and supportable automation solutions that address business problems and integrate with other existing/future business systems

Develop and socialise automation standards and controls

Advise and support one or many project teams on the automation value drivers

Ensure that framework and automation controls are designed into solution requirements and systems architecture to drive automation readiness

Work with financials and budgets effectively and ensure the costs for execution are competitive within the industry and the projects are delivered to budget, schedule and outcomes achieved as per stakeholder expectations

Applying data analytics to drive operational decisions, change and efficiency

Manage, manipulate and generate data to support detailed analysis

Identify, execute and champion site initiatives for improvement

Engage with colleagues to collaboratively solve problems and support the learning and development of peers

Automation - General:

Provide input into the automation program and design of capital projects and support for the development, installation, commissioning and validation of automated systems

Provide input into the identification and evaluation of new and emerging technologies that solve a business problem and complements the automation strategy

Support the Implementation of innovation into autonomy fully aligned with the Production Technology Planning roadmap maximising key business drivers at each asset

Reporting - ensure the preparation of project reports as required. Work to ensure that all reports are accurate, comprehensive to ensure accurate reporting on project/s

About You:

The ideal candidate will have operations and training experience in a similar environment. You will be an effective communicator who is able to build relationships with stakeholders and work collaboratively to solve problems. The ability to lead and motivate within cross-functional and multidiscipline teams is important to the success of this position. Relevant tertiary qualifications and a background within engineering and technology will be highly regarded.
