An opportunity has become available for a suitably experienced and qualified Category Manager - Corporate and Professional Services to join our Procurement team. This is a permanent full time role based out of our Cooma Head Office in the Snowy Mountains region, with regular travel to our Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne offices expected. A full relocation package is available for those that require it.

The high level purpose of this role is to assume responsibility for the management of Snowy Hydro's Corporate and Professional Services spend through the application of category management techniques.  The position also contributes to the broader procurement activities across Snowy Hydro including day to day procurement and continuous improvement of the function.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement the role will be responsible for;

• Delivering effective category management

• Develop / maintain a comprehensive category management plan for Corporate Services (Information & Communication Technology; People, Culture & Community; Finance & Tax; Legal) and Professional Services spend;

• Synthesize information from internal and external category drivers to establish opportunities and risks for SHL

• Contributing to the procurement transformation program

• Lead implementation of allocated elements of the SHL transformation program;

• Collaborate on implementation of the procurement transformation road map;

• Ensure initiatives in the transformation roadmap are fit for purpose for SHL

• Collaborate on managing broader SHL spend

• As required to meet business needs, conduct sourcing, contracting, contract management and supplier relationship management on allocated spend outside to the Corporate and Professional Services spend;

• Collaborate with and support other procurement team members to ensure that the function is able to meet business needs

• Demonstrate procurement leadership

• Provide support to end users on procurement and supply chain matters that is valued by end-users;

• Mentor other procurement team members on contemporary procurement techniques,

• Understand the impact of end-user plans and priorities on procurement activities, be an effective business partner to end-users

To be successful in this role, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate;

• Bachelor's degree

• Minimum 5 yrs experience in procurement

• Expert knowledge of contemporary category management techniques

• Working knowledge of ERP procurement modules such as Ellipse, SAP

• Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain value drivers

• Able to define approaches to complex procurement problems, develop plan with work with key stakeholders on alignment

• Self-starter with a "can do" attitude

• Highly developed influencing & negotiation skills at all levels of the business and with suppliers

• Win confidence of stakeholders as trusted commercial advisor
