Orion Group is a global provider of personnel to the Oil and Gas, Mining and Infrastructure Industries. We support major operators and contractors in some of the worlds most challenging locations, with over 4500 contractors on secondment in 40 different countries.

Our client, a major international oil and gas operator with several projects across Australia, requires an additional Cost Controller - Subsea & Pipelines to support its activities in the Timor Sea.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:

• A minimum of 10 years of cost estimating and cost forecasting experience in major upstream capital projects.
• At least five years’ experience in subsea/pipelines cost benchmarking, estimating and cost control activities.
• Demonstrated understanding of project controls and project contracting and procurement disciplines and their relationship to cost estimating and cost forecasting activities.
• Familiar with the use of proprietary and custom computer software systems used for estimating, cost control and project management.
• Highly effective communication skills and ability to develop and present reports and analysis at all levels, including presentations to senior management.

The successful candidate will also hold a Bachelors’ degree in Engineering, Finance, Business or equivalent.

In summary the incumbent is responsible for coordinating all cost control and estimating activities for the Project’s subsea/export pipeline scope of work.  It is critical the indiviudal can communciate effectively with the management, technical, project services, and contracts/procurement staff assigned to the subsea/export pipeline scopes of work.
