CuDeco Limited owns and operates the 3.0Mtpa Rocklands Copper Mine situated near the town of Cloncurry, 121kms east of Mt Isa in N.W. Queensland.  CuDeco prides itself in being a regional employer of choice that supports the local community.

We currently have an opportunity for a suitably qualified Purchasing Officer.  This role is responsible for all procurement and inventory requirements on site as well as providing relief support to the logistics and warehouse teams.

CuDeco utilises IFS as our inventory management system which is an unfamiliar system to most.  The role will require a candidate who is extremely comfortable with computers and ERP systems who has the initiative to learn and master the software with limited training.

This is a great opportunity for a self-starter who enjoys being challenged and is an excellent team player.

Main activities of the position include but are not limited to:

• Processing of all site purchase orders ensuring compliance to company policies
• Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders to expedite the approval or delivery of purchase orders as required in a cost-effective and timely manner
• Accountable for the integrity of the purchasing system at all times
• Process credit card purchase requests as per company policy
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and internal stakeholders
• Negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal cost and lead times to satisfy site priorities and requirements
• Monitor warehouse inventory levels and advise of inventory adjustments in a timely manner
• Assist with the picking, packing, receiving, loading and unloading of trucks, storage of goods, and the organisation of transport to ensure accurate coverage of leave and R&R of the logistics and warehouse teams with appropriate regard to segregation of duties.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• 4 or more years of experience in a similar role
• Certificate or qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Warehousing Operations, Business or similar
• Manual ‘C’ class Australian Driver’s License
• Forklift license  
• Senior First Aid and CPR (desirable)
• Experience with ERP software (SAP, IFS, Oracle, Pronto)
• Strong and effective communication and negotiation skills

This is a residential role on a 5:2 (Monday – Friday) roster in the family friendly town of Cloncurry. A competitive salary is on offer as well as attractive residential accommodation allowance.
