Why this role?
Reporting to the Mill Superintendent, the Senior Metallurgist will be responsible for ensuring that Metallurgical and Laboratory functions operate in a safe, high quality, environmentally responsible manner to achieve cost efficient gold production.
What will you be doing?
- Ensure expenditure on production consumables and reagents is in line with the operating cost budget
- Timely completion of metallurgical accounting and reporting
- Monitor and ensure key plant operating parameters achieve or exceed target.
- Provide technical support to the processing team to assist achievement of the annual production budget.
- Review, manage and improve metallurgical performance to meet targets
- Monitor and ensure achievement of budget plant recoveries through agreed metallurgical accounting procedures
- Implement and maintain short and medium term production planning to provide accurate detailed forecasts.
- Support the Mill Superintendent in the development and implementation of long term strategic planning.
- Supervise the assay laboratory function ensuring that it is efficient, cost effective and accurate.
- Liaise and cooperate with maintenance and processing personnel to ensure optimum performance of the plant.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement in safe production practices, ore processing capability, metal recoveries. Maintenance practices and cost of production.
- Coordinate metallurgical projects.
- Ensure the Ore treatment function meets all site and external compliance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with environmental procedures and standards.
- Commit to maintaining health, safety and security standards and principles, both within own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Evolution.
Are you the one?
- Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy or Minerals Processing are essential
- Experience in Metalliferous processing
- Good computer literacy including spreadsheet and database development
