The BAC Assets Group is responsible for the delivery of over $2 billion in major civil and building infrastructure projects over next 10 years and the Airport Facilities Division is responsible for effectively managing airport assets in order to meet the required level of service for current and future operations.  The Airport Facilities Division is also responsible for ensuring optimised life cycle costs, maximising asset availability and for providing safe, secure and sustainable performance of all airport assets.  

Position

We are currently looking to recruit Electrical Embedded Network Engineer to be responsible for providing project management services and for the delivery of a reliable network metering and billing process for all Utility services at BAC.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Role Specific

  • Investigate, develop and implement Electrical Energy metering processes in liaison with respective energy consultants under general guidance and minimal supervision and in accordance with the BAC Metering Policy.
  • Direct the work of contractors or staff in the implementation of energy management projects.
  • Identify energy savings opportunities and make recommendations to achieve more energy efficient operation
  • Participate in the recommendation of sound policies directed toward energy conservation.
  • Assist in budget formulation.
  • Liaise as necessary with Commonwealth, State and Local Authorities.
  • Build and maintain communication and collaborative partnerships with internal departments, customers and applicable external agencies to facilitate achievement of the Asset group's objectives.
  • Manage the implementation of a network metering strategy in line with approved Business Plan.
  • Support external energy consultants in the assessment and monitoring of the BAC utilities billing system.
  • Carry out analysis of utilities consumption and costs data.
  • Update monthly utilities finance reports and liaise with the Finance Team.
  • Analyse and resolve tenant enquiries for the BAC Property and Retail Teams.
  • Assist the Airport Facilities and Property teams with NABERS reporting data provision.
  • Support the delivery of the Division’s business plan through the development and implementation of operational plans that support the corporate purpose and vision by growing shareholder value.
  • Manage the applicable approved budget and compliance with all relevant consultancy agreements.
  • Participate in the implementation of business strategies and plans as part of the BAC Management Team. Management/coordination of third party contractors/consultants as required.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential

  • Sound knowledge of the metering and billing industry.
  • Ability to develop and utilise complex models to prepare energy forecasting and analysis.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the workplace.
  • Preferred
  • Graduate qualifications in engineering, economics or finance related studies.
  • Consulting experience with Utilities
  • Greenhouse / NABERS reporting.

Knowledge & Technical Proficiency

  • ·         Knowledge of Electrical Engineering techniques in the areas of buildings, water supply, Trade Waste and sewerage
  • ·         Knowledge and experience in Risk Management, Quality Techniques Auditing, Quality Auditing Techniques, Quality Systems auditing, and the facilitation and evaluation of engineering studies.
  • ·         Intermediate to advanced knowledge and skills in using relevant Microsoft programs.
  • Understanding, occupational health and safety legislation and Australian Standard contract conditions is desirable.
  • A thorough understanding of the energy market and legislation surrounding energy efficiency and carbon reduction principles.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory framework and regulations associated with the operation of embedded networks – and the obligations imposed on operators of such private networks
  • Understanding of the National Electricity Rules and Metrology Rules as they relate to QLD operations
  • Good working knowledge of electricity industry sector, including metering, billing processes, and electrical regulatory environment in Queensland
  • Good high level knowledge of meter to bill processes within the electrical energy market
  • Sound knowledge and experience with the implementation of alternate means of electrical power generation.
