The Procurement Support Manager will also be instrumental in leading the successful implementation of a Procure to Pay system. You will describe yourself as a true procurement professional who can coach and mentor staff, works well within a complex environment and have previous experience implementing changes and new processes within a large organisation.

This organisation is a key member within the high voltage, infrastructure solutions and telecommunications space. As a market share owner they are environmentally aware and are developing innovative ideas to utilise more renewable energy sources.

The role

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, this role will be responsible for overseeing several staff within the Procurement team. The Procurement Support Manager will also be instrumental in leading the successful implementation of a Procure to Pay system. You will describe yourself as a true procurement professional who can coach and mentor staff, works well within a complex environment and have previous experience implementing a Procure to Pay system and innovative new processes for purchasing and procurement.

Key responsibilities

  • Implementing P2P system
  • Project management of the P2P implementation within the business
  • Managing a team of several Procurement & Purchasing specialists
  • Providing ongoing support, coaching and mentoring to team members
  • Supplier management
  • Developing and implementing improved processes for procurement, contract management, variations and claims
  • Addressing contract performance issues
  • Developing sound supplier relationships
  • Stakeholder management
  • Design and implement procurement documentation for the sourcing process
  • Negotiating with suppliers to reduce prices
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase supplier savings
  • Lead the development of tools to analyse supplier spend activity, compliance, risk and cost saving opportunities
  • Identify procurement issues and opportunities

Experience required

  • Tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or similar
  • Demonstrated experience implementing a P2P system
  • Extensive management experience of a large procurement team
  • Member of a professional procurement body (e.g. MCIPS)
  • Superior communication and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated, extensive experience in Supplier Relationship Management, risk management and supplier performance management
  • Demonstrated, extensive project management expertise, particularly in the implementation of procurement systems and procurement improvement initiatives.
  • High level commercial acumen, ability to drive innovations and challenge conventional thinking
