Round Oak Minerals is a subsidiary of Washington H. Soul Pattinson & Co Ltd (WHSP). This includes a Cloncurry Operations with a centralised processing facility located 4km from the township of Cloncurry in North Queensland servicing a number of mining tenements in the area.  Additionally, Round Oak Minerals also has projects in South Australia, Victoria and has just recently acquired the Jaguar Mine in Western Australia. 2018 is shaping up to be a year of significant growth for the Company.
 

The Role

We are currently searching for an Electrician with Underground experience to join our Jaguar Operation. The main responsibilities for this role will be to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and continuously improve the underground electrical assets. You will need to conduct safe and efficient installation works and maximise availability of equipment through high quality maintenance work. Reporting directly to the Electrical Supervisor, this is a full time position is available on a 6 months fixed- term contract on a 2:1 FIFO (1 week on nightshift, followed by 1 week of day shift) roster from Perth.
 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform Preventative Maintenance on underground equipment;
• Fault finding and diagnostics on underground electrical infrastructure,  underground remote Mobile equipment and Fixed Infrastructure;
• Ensure Electrical Statutory Compliance is adhered to;
• Actively work to minimise downtime by ensuring high quality work standards and practices are adhered to;
• Complete Job Safety Environment Analysis (JSEA) or SWP prior to performing any work tasks; and
• Any other duties within your capabilities and at the direction of your Supervisor.
   

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• An Electrical trade qualification, holding a current Western Australian "A" Grade Electrical Workers license;
• Solid and recent underground mine electrical installation and maintenance experience;
• Possess solid technical skills backed up by a strong practical background;
• Valid Australian manual driver’s license;
• High Voltage Switching Ticket;
• Current Working at Heights Ticket;
• Current Senior First Aid certificate;
• National Police Clearance obtained within the last 3 months;
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a small team; and
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
