About the role
An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced, self-starting and enthusiastic project professional to join a small team where managing projects through their complete lifecycle will ensure a variety of challenges. Responsibility for a dynamic portfolio of projects up to US$10 million will ensure the successful candidate will utilise their significant project experience. The ability to deliver on a wide range of projects that provide value for the business will be a must.
Reporting to the Superintendent Projects, your duties will include:
- Ensuring the disciplined management of projects and modifications through the Opportunity Assessment, Identification, Selection, Definition, Execution and Operation phases and tollgates;
- Engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders, and demonstrating a strong customer focus, to ensure requirements are met;
- Supporting your colleagues by sharing your technical expertise and peer-reviewing work;
- Leading and managing others, including junior Engineers, Supervisors and Consultants;
- Providing input into the site 5 year plan and 2 year budget for projects, and ensuring all works are executed according to the plan;
- Liaising with the corporate projects, finance and other functions for evaluation and approvals of projects;
- Management of costs and schedule;
- Assisting with managing the site interface with the corporate projects team for projects greater than US$10 million to ensure there is a single point interface back to site;
- Leading the delivery of safe work practices that comply with the site health and safety management system.
This is a site based role and supports Mt Arthur Coal’s mine, processing plant and infrastructure.
About You
Ideally, the successful candidate will have extensive experience in project management roles and electrical engineering qualifications. Project Management qualifications and/or experience in a similar heavy industrial environment will be highly regarded, but are not essential. A demonstrated ability to engage with and build consultative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally is important.
