The Pipeline Integrity Engineer is a key member of the Field Operations Team and is responsible for monitoring the integrity of all QGC Pipeline Assets and is the focal point on the Company Pipeline Integrity Management System (PIMS).    The role is responsible for managing the PIMS and building the interfaces required to capture the relevant data and support a risk based integrity management platform. 


The successful applicant will perform a number of risk assessments, collate and communicate the outcomes and contribute to defining an optimised programme of integrity based inspection and maintenance activities suitable for the requirements of the company and a variety of stakeholders including state government.

Some of the key accountabilities of the role include; 
•    Field Support for pipeline integrity issues
•    Development, and oversight of the pipeline integrity processes and procedures
•    Support the development of annual and multi-year pipeline integrity plans in line with the QGC business plan
•    Act as a principal custodian of the  PIMS Software Systems (PIMS) acting as the gate keeper for all data input, ensuring timely updating of risk profiles and extracting data and reports as required
•    Ensure fitness of pipeline assets to maintain design intent over full life cycle to enable safe operations at all times contributing to the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the business
•    Ensure compliance with QGC Asset Integrity Management and Pipeline Integrity Management Standards
•    Take ownership of pipeline integrity technical data including document management and relevant management systems
•    Implementation, application and update of pipeline integrity databases
•    Sourcing, monitoring & input of integrity data (or facilitating the input of data) for cathodic protection systems; corrosion inhibition; erosion & corrosion monitoring; in line inspection; DCVG, sampling; process variables; patrolling, surveillance and all other potential sources of integrity related data
•    Performance monitoring and verification of availability and quality of data acquisition; interpretation of data
•    Interfacing with QGC IT vendors, PIMS Software Vendors and GIS Team to maintain a functional integrity management system
•    Support QGC PIMS software users to effectively utilise the system, input and update. Supports the identification and review of module access needs and security requirements for new/existing system users
•    Develop, produce and communicate regular QGC pipeline integrity reports underpinned by robust KPIs and Performance Metrics
•    Support AAPCO reporting to QGC and regulatory/statutory reporting
•    Support the evaluation of defects and non-conformances and provide assessments to management of the ongoing hazards and risks
•    Support the setting of appropriate inspection, surveying and patrolling strategies and philosophies ensuring compliance with Australian Statutory and Regulatory requirements and using the asset risk profile to optimise
•    Ensure that inspection and testing regimes are established in accordance with industry best practice and are set appropriately
•    Ensure all relevant Pipeline Integrity work scopes fully comply with QGC IAPS planning processes and procedures.

Requirements

You should have proven experience of pipeline integrity projects and management systems  ( including software and processes) within the onshore Oil and Gas industry.  You will need to be hands on and conversant with operational aspects of  pipeline maintenance planning, especially where they pertain to integrity practices..

Ideally you will have had experience in interaction with multi skilled technical staff and contractors you will be able to work with Permit to Work (PTW) systems and safety monitoring systems and have a impeccable attitude and experience in commitment to safety

You will need  tertiary qualification(s) in an engineering discipline preferably pipelines, material or mechanical, and relevant experience in field pipeline engineeringMembership of a relevant engineering institute is preferred,  (i.e. RPEQ)and you must have proven knowledge of Australian Pipeline Standards, relevant international standards and Asset Integrity principles. Knowledge and experience of working within the Queensland regulatory framework relative to hydrocarbon extraction will be viewed positively.
