About The Role
- Review of all detailed scopes of work assigned to the shutdown event to optimise execution efficiency
- Coordination of shutdown activity, including resources, personnel and operational activity, during execution to provide a safe and efficient maintenance service
- Facilitate ramp down and ramp up activities during the shutdown event
- Engaging with multiple stakeholders to deliver efficient shutdown execution ensuring resource utilisation is optimised
- Engage with production and maintenance teams to prioritise resources to maintain optimal machine availability
- Provide input into the shutdown schedule to identify opportunities to reduce duration and risk
- Provide coaching and leadership support for both scheduling and execution teams
- Lead planning and execution meetings to deliver effective shutdown outcomes
- Ensuring conformance with the BHP Billiton Charter, the BHP Billiton Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations
- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
- Meeting the supervisor level requirements of the Operating Discipline Standard STD-IOH-SAF-009
- As a Section 44 Appointed Person, ensuring compliance to the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations
- Maintaining a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment
Location
As the successful applicant, you will be based in the coastal town of Port Hedland, Western Australia working 5 days on, 2 days off, 5 days on, 2 days off pattern. Port Hedland is home to our port and rail operations and is the largest regional centre in North West Australia. The 20,000-strong population enjoys well-established education services, entertainment, shopping and medical facilities.
The excellent sporting and leisure facilities include; a new aquatic centre, sports stadium and water play park. Its beaches and mangroves are home to an abundance of fish and other wildlife. Within driving distance are the spectacular Broome, Karratha and Karijini national Park. As this is a residential position you will also be provided with subsidised rental accommodation in addition to power and water subsidies. Identifying and providing input in the continuous improvement of our shutdown process.
About You
- Appropriate trade or tertiary qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years Maintenance experience
- Experience in shutdown/construction supervision of multiple workgroups
- Demonstrated commitment to Health, Safety and the environment is essential
- Ability to Identify and implement safe work practices
- Demonstrated ability to engage multiple stakeholders
- Proven ability to communicate and follow plans clearly and concisely in a maintenance environment
- Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of plant and equipment in area of responsibility
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and 1SAP
- Minimum of C Class Drivers License
