The Role

Based in Geraldton, This leadership role is vital to ensuring safety is managed on site while having a strong focus on quality, people, integrity and customer service. The Production Manager is responsible for executing production plans, you will need to understand quality standards, work in progress and maintenance plans. You will need to be flexible with your own time but also understand how to successfully lead teams across multiple shift patterns.

Key areas of responsibility will include but not be limited to;

Manage GMA’s Geraldton mineral processing and packaging operations, including quality control.
Ensure that all dry plant employees, contractors and visitors comply with GMA site rules and policies directly and/or via superintendents, supervisors and leading hands.
Achieve monthly and annual production, quality and cost budgets, to the best of the plant’s ability.
Carry out production scheduling to ensure that all customer requirements are fulfilled as efficiently as possible.
Assist with the preparation of end-of-month production reports.
Identify and, where justified and approved, implement improvements to safety, quality, production or work conditions.
See that all operating equipment is maintained in safe working condition via maintenance personnel.
See to the timely purchase of packaging materials, parts, consumables and approved capital acquisitions.
Manage and oversee Capital Investment projects at the Geraldton Plant.

About You

Leading a team of around 35 people, you will need an extensive background in managing similar production environments. This position is also required to take on the responsiblilty of the Site Registered Manager (as per the Mines Safety & Inspection Act 1994)

In addition to the above the ideal candidate will possess the following:

Minimum of 5 years' experience leading a team in a modern production environment where safety is at the forefront.
Trade, Engineering or Business Qualification (desirable)
Excellent leadership, team building, communication & presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to manage a production facility, delivering product and projects on time & within budget
Experience operating in a mining based environment is desirable however not a requirement for this position.
