OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
This is an opportunity to join our tight knit team at Bairnsdale Power Station, supplying energy to our customers across the East Gippsland region. Accountabilities include maintaining and operating our 92MW gas fired plant in accordance with good engineering and operating practices to meet capacity, availability and reliability goals. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the focus will be on utilising your electrical skills to investigate plant and equipment incidents in a timely manner.
Supporting a culture of “zero harm” through compliance with all company safety policies is critical. As is troubleshooting and developing action plans with accurate scoping and specification work. All works and reports must be completed in accordance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
You will role model values based behaviour and contribute to an effective and productive small team which shares knowledge and information to improve production levels, reliability gains and cost outcomes. The role works an on call roster to provide after-hours support.
What we’re looking for
You are a qualified A grade tradesperson with a Instrumentation Certificate III (or equivalent). Expertise in gas turbines, detailed fault finding and problem solving is required. Qualifications and experience with Type B gas appliances is preferable.
You will set a benchmark for promoting safety culture and ensure Alinta Energy values are demonstrably “lived” within the team. Building and maintaining productive relationships with fellow team members to facilitate the successful operation of the power station will be the key to success.
