BTP Parts based in Mackay are currently looking for an experienced Component Rebuild Leading Hand to join our vastly experienced team to assist the SX Supervisor with leading our team to continuously produce top quality products for our clients and to help drive our safety focus.
Reporting to the Service Exchange Supervisor your prime function will be to lead the Component Rebuild team providing guidance and assistance to mechanics and apprentices. There is also a hands on aspect to this position to assist with ensuring work is completed to the required quality and time frame whilst ensuring all safety requirements are followed.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Conduct all aspects of work in a safe manner
- Provide and lead the workers on the floor with guidance and instruction
- Mentor Apprentices
- Act in the capacity of a mechanic when required
- Communicate well with supervisors, management and fellow workers.
- Compliance with the OH&S Regulations
- Participate in risk and hazard assessments associated with tasks and methods to manage and/or eliminate the hazards in order to prevent incidents, injury and damage from occurring
- Prepared to travel to remote sites or work nights if requested
General skill, experience and knowledge required:
- Appropriate Automotive or Engineering Trade Certificate essential
- Ideally 5yrs previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Appropriate Automotive or Engineering Trade Certificate essential
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems experience preferred
- Firm understanding of CAT SIS and ET systems mandatory
- Firm understanding of workplace safety requirements
- Forklift licence mandatory
- Dogging licence preferred
- HR Drivers, EWP & CN licence an advantage but not essential
