The Account Manager - Mining, is responsible for the effective Account Management of designated group of both Contract and Owner Miner Customers, ensuring the execution of the Sales Mining Strategy by means of providing high quality products and services to our customers.

    Job Details

    Reporting to the Mining Business Manager, this position is responsible for the effective day-to-day Account Management. The Account Manager - Mining will provide support to the Mining Business Manager as required and work closely with the Customer Support Manager to ensure seamless provision of service to the customer.

    Job Duties

  • Oversee designated Customer base account management methodologies and performance
  • Accurately forecast sales commitment to ensure appropriate business planning activities occur
  • Assist General Manager in contract negotiations
  • Ensure customer coverage plans are developed to provide adequate coverage to achieve acceptable participation rates
  • Remain abreast of current industry and market trends to ensure commercially sound tender negotiations
  • Ensure WesTrac delivers on the promise of lowest total cost of ownership
  • Measure and monitor inventory to ensure acceptable stock turns
  • Compile monthly performance reports, identifying areas requiring improvement and recommend action to be taken
  • Maintain successful relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure ongoing opportunity identification
  • Work with the Customer Support Manager of corresponding customer sets to ensure seamless integration of services
  • Manage back office stakeholder consultation with internal WesTrac teams to ensure adequate product and technical support provided to customers from relevant WesTrac teams
  • Proactively identify business development opportunities within relevant markets

Essential Criteria

  • Sound commercial experience within the mining product support industry, Minimum 8 years’ experience
  • Sound understanding of ‘Whole of Life Cost’ modelling tool,  Size of Fleet, Fleet Production Cost (FPC) and application of equipment
  • Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Advanced communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal)
  • Intermediate negotiation skills and ability to influence stakeholders
  • Ability to work successfully within a team and autonomously
  • Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to manage fluctuating workloads and conflicting priorities to achieve tight deadlines
  • High level of initiative and problem solving skills with the ability to follow through with required actions
  • Ability to analyse data and compile reports

Desirable Criteria

  • Extensive Caterpillar product knowledge
  • Tertiary qualification in either engineering or commercial disciplines, coupled with at least 5 years post qualification experience and a minimum of 2 years in a similar Account Manager role or Trade Certificate and
