About the Team
The Portfolio Governance Team is responsible for the ongoing definition, governance, assurance and management of the Enterprise Portfolio. This team ensures that EnergyAustralia invests in the right projects and programs aligned to our strategic direction. This in turn helps to shape the future of the company.
About the role
The Portfolio Management and Reporting Leader is responsible for understanding, categorising, prioritising, balancing and planning the Enterprise Portfolio in alignment with strategic priorities.
In this role, you will develop and implement strategic processes to guide decision making about the selection and prioritisation of the Enterprise Portfolio. You will monitor and report portfolio performance metrics and insights and track the progress against plan to inform decision making forums.
Key activities include:
- Provide organisational leadership for portfolio management (frameworks, templates and procedures), ensuring these are fit for purpose and continue to be best practice.
- Proactively engage with initiative owners and program managers to define and implement the portfolio management framework, including creating strategies for the effective planning, monitoring and delivery of the Enterprise Portfolio.
- Prioritise and balance the pipeline of change initiative demand, based upon agreed measures.
- Manage the development and ongoing control of a portfolio schedule to assess timelines, do-ability, dependencies and risks.
- Engage with projects and PMO’s to identify and manage the Enterprise Portfolio wide risks, dependencies and constraints.
- Lead and develop a small, high performing team.
- Liaise and manage stakeholders across all layers of the organisation.
About You:
To be successful in securing this role, you have been an effective Portfolio Manager in a similar, complex organisation. You will have achieved results through being both operational and strategic and through influencing and taking stakeholders on the journey with you.
Your strong business acumen and ability to ensure investments match strategic priorities will ensure your success in this role. In addition, you will demonstrate:
- Strong experience in assessing, prioritising and delivering programs and projects.
- Experience in managing a multi-million dollar portfolio of work with multiple interdependencies, ideally as part of a business-wide transformation.
- Proven ability to think and act both commercially and strategically.
- Experience in establishing and operating an Enterprise Portfolio Management function, and developing/executing a portfolio reporting and performance tracking framework.
- Management of Portfolio (MoP) Practitioner accreditation.
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills at all levels of the organisation.
