Role Detail
Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking an Operator: Grader to join their Surface Mining team at St Ives Gold Mine.
Reporting to the Supervisor: Surface Production, you will be responsible for providing quality and timely grading / water cart services to support the safe haulage of ore and waste rock.
This role is offered on a 5 days on, 5 nights on, 5 days off roster and would require the incumbent to be residential in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie.
For successful candidates relocating from Interstate or other locations, Gold Fields provide a generous relocation package to assist with the associated costs.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of GFA and ensures that the Vital Behaviours are adhered to at all times.
- You must be able to cut and fill to levels, maintain clean smooth road surfaces and from drainage as required to alleviate ponding on roads
- Ensure production goals are achieved by working collaboratively with the mining team
- Assist the achievement of budgeted maintenance targets by operating with care, providing preventative maintenance through scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting and organising the timely repair of operated equipment
- Assist to increase the skills of the mining team by providing training and mentoring of operators
Key factors to your success include:
- Completion of Year 10 Education
- At least 2 years' experience in Surface Mining operations operating a grader
- Ability to complete repetitive tasks at a consistent standard
- Record of safe surface mining practices
- HR Drivers Licence – essential
