About Jacinth-Ambrosia
Jacinth-Ambrosia is located 270 kilometres north of the Port of Thevenard, near Ceduna. It is the world’s largest source of zircon, and a tier 1 deposit with extensive reserves. It is the first mining development in a mixed use regional reserve – the Yellabina Regional Reserve – in South Australia, with the operation demonstrating a commitment to high environmental standards, including progressive land rehabilitation, as well as a commitment to indigenous employment, which currently comprises 20 per cent of the work force. About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and proactive Maintenance Coordinator to join Iluka's Jacinth-Ambrosia (JA) Mineral Sands Operation in South Australia on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Maintenance & Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Coordinator is pivotal in leading a team of experienced mechanical and electrical technicians in the safe execution of maintenance activities to optimise plant availability.
The core responsibilities of this role include:
- coordination and leadership of maintenance activities at the mine site by applying best practice maintenance principles to support production targets;
- contribution to maintenance budgets and forecasts;
- preparation of monthly maintenance reporting, including financial analysis, team performance, cost reductions, usage rates and plant availability;
- development, coaching and mentoring of the maintenance team; and
- management of maintenance contractors as required.
To be successful in this role you will have previous mine site experience in a same or similar role and:
- an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental, social responsibility and sustainable development
- a mechanical or electrical trade background with substantial maintenance supervision experience.
- a high degree of experience with contractor management;
- excellent technical knowledge and experience in project management;
- excellent technical knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling techniques, basic business concepts and employee relations;
- a working knowledge of SAP as a maintenance management tool;
- high levels of attention to detail
- a team oriented approach to undertaking tasks but also able to display initiative and work independently;
- current drivers licence; and
- First Aid qualifications (or willing to obtain).
You must be extremely organised with well-developed verbal and written communication skills, have a strong team focus and demonstrate a high level of accountability and initiative. Your leadership skills will include the ability to motivate, empower and engage your employees and contractors to deliver a high standard of work. Post trade qualifications in a relevant field will be highly regarded.
This is a site based role, and comprises an 8 days on/ 6 days off roster flying in from Adelaide or Ceduna. Travel by road and air to and from site, to remote locations and Adelaide are requirements of this role.
