Detail information about job Contracts Administrator. Terms and conditions vacancy

  • Rare role within the Mining Industry at ideal Central Victorian location
  • Exciting prospect at a mine site that has an expanding outlook
  • New position within the organisation - develop the role to its full potential

Kirkland Lake Gold is an international mining and exploration company focused on safely meeting production targets and sustainable growth.  The company owns and operates the Fosterville Gold Mine in Central Victoria.

The Fosterville Gold Mine is a medium-sized mining operation located approximately 20 kilometres east of Bendigo, an original gold rush town. With its population of approx 100,000 people, Bendigo is one of Victoria’s largest and fastest-growing rural cities and offers a great lifestyle choice.

CONTRACTS ADMINISTRATOR

Fosterville Gold Mine invites applications from experienced contract administrators and/or project managers looking to gain experience in the mining industry.

This is a rare opportunity for applicants from other industries (potentially construction, infrastructure or similar) to enter the mining industry and obtain valuable and highly sought-after experience.

This role offers the opportunity to live locally in Bendigo, a bustling regional centre only an hour-and-a-half from Melbourne, while working in an operational mining environment on a regular Monday-to-Friday roster. Rarely do such opportunities present themselves – no FIFO, no extended periods away from home, no living in basic facilities hundreds of kilometres away from anything resembling civilisation – live in a lively yet still-affordable town and drive to work in half-an-hour or less, while earning an above-average salary and learning the ins-and-outs of an active mining operation first-hand.

We are looking for someone with excellent English-language written skills who can easily write, proof-read, edit and analyse content. You’ll need excellent spelling, grammar and formatting skills and the ability to shape base material that will often be technical in nature into documentation that is succinct, coherent, robust, logical and accurate.

You’ll also need to have strong analytical skills to be able to efficiently identify gaps in information, and good interpersonal skills to be able to ask the right questions of a team of varied stakeholders (including geologists, metallurgists, technical managers, mechanics, electricians and environmental officers) to fill the identified Prodgaps and identify end-users’ requirements. Reviewing and editing technical specifications to ensure they are clear, unambiguous, complete and not conflicting with contractual terms will be a core function of the role, as will authoring reports to justify procurement decisions.

You’ll also need to be well organised, able to work to a high standard at a fast pace and reliable.

You will need experience working with, and demonstrated understanding of, contract documents generally (the field is not so important), together with experience carrying out complex procurement activities. A relevant degree qualification will be highly regarded but is not essential if sufficient equivalent practical experience is able to be demonstrated. Mining industry experience is not required, although a keen interest in entering the mining industry is sought. The ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of colleagues and to contribute productively to the team’s broader goals and objectives, and to think critically and make informed real-time decisions will be highly valued. We’d also like someone with enthusiasm and drive to fit into our high-achieving workplace culture.

This mid-level role reports to the Supply Superintendent. There may be a requirement on occasion to travel to other KL Gold sites.

A competitive salary will be offered commensurate with the successful applicant’s qualifications, knowledge and experience. If required, relocation assistance will be provided. A medical assessment will form part of the recruitment process.
