Brunel’s global Oil & Gas Operator client are recruiting an experienced Subsea Hardware Package Engineer for a Melbourne CBD assignment supporting new offshore gas developments. 12/18 month contract working 50 hours per week. Please note this role is open to local applicants with Australian working rights.

 

The successful Subsea Hardware package Engineer is required to monitor, evaluate and influence all technical aspects of the project. Main objective is to ensure fulfilment of Subsea Production System scope of work based on project functional and technical requirements as provided in bid packages and contract. Ensure the technical aspects of the subsea wellheads, trees, control system and associated topsides equipment is designed and manufactured consistent with technical and relevant regulatory requirements.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for stewardship and resolution of technical support, including managing and responding to technical queries and requests for information from the subsea hardware contractor.
  • Ensure overall quality of engineering work, to direct and guide the global engineering effort and to ensure the engineering is done in the most efficient manner.
  • Review and approval of select project documents.
  • Participate in contractor design review meetings.
  • Ensure that constructability issues related to drilling/ installation/ production operations are considered in detail equipment designs.
  • Steward the project implementation of company Design Specifications & company practices and process any required deviations.
  • Interface with other project team and business units on flow-assurance, materials and corrosion, subsea hardware design, vendor qualification, installation engineering and pre-commissioning and start-up issues as required.
  • Interface with company operations representatives on subsea hardware facilities related issues.
  • Interface with other EPC contractors and company drilling team. Ensure interfaces (external and internal) are identified, fulfilled, and closed. Ensure interaction with other organisations to fulfil their needs as required.
  • Interface with project QA/QC coordinator and inspectors as required to ensure and maintain a high level of quality.
  • Assist SURF Lead with budget, costs, schedule and company upstream management systems requirement’s.
  • Utilise available company resources and third-party verification parties as required.
  • Participate in project HAZOPs, HAZIDs and risk assessments as required.
  • Participate in Systems Integration Testing program to ensure equipment functions as intended.
  • Provide technical oversight to Installation contractors as it relates to offshore installation operations & testing procedures for subsea hardware.
  • Provides field engineering support to the Construction and Installation Advisors and field Construction Superintendents.

 

Skills & Experience:

 

  • Overall fundamental understanding of subsea production systems and systems level engineering, including company general practices.
  • Good project management and project execution skills in handling multiple contractors, multiple concurrent activities and large number of internal/external interfaces.
  • Subsea production and drilling experience preferred with basic understanding of reservoir/ flow assurance related issues.
  • ROV Systems and Tooling experience.
  • Offshore experience for supporting subsea drilling and installation operations.
  • Subsea project experience preferred (minimum 7+ years)
  • Skilled communicator and facilitator of input from personnel at all organizational levels
  • Significant experience in assessing risk, evaluation and providing recommendations
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering
