About the opportunity

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of projects for the Alcoa Bauxite Business Unit.

Reporting to the Bauxite Capital Manager, this role is accountable for delivery of project outcomes within the targets (time, cost and quality) as set forth in the Alcoa project delivery model.

In this position, you will manage all activities comprising a project and the internal / external project resources into a totally integrated, coordinated, safe and controlled effort to satisfy or exceed client expectations.

To enable these outcomes to be achieved, the Project Manager is responsible for managing and co-ordinating all project processes from start of the project phase to completion of the Review/Closure phase, whilst ensuring a smooth transition between all phases at their nominated location.

Key objectives are;

  • Ensuring agreed project delivery process is consistently applied
  • Ensuring compliance with Alcoa’s financial authorisation procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and systems

About you

Strong influencing, interpersonal and communications skills are essential for this role. You will also require a demonstrated business and customer focus, including an understanding of engineering alliance type relationships. The ideal candidate will have an Engineering degree with at least 10-12 years experience in an engineering field with supervisory or project management involvement.  A post graduate business or project management qualification along with large project experience would be highly desirable.

About where you will work

Alcoa’s Peel regional office is located in the town of Pinjarra, approximately 85 kilometres south of Perth and just 20 minutes from the coastal city of Mandurah. Approximately 80 employees provide essential support services to Alcoa’s Australian and global businesses.
