ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Based in our Sydney office, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining cost control processes and procedures for our assets (mobile maintenance) department across the business;
  • PYBAR has a long term established heavy vehicle fleet. The Assets and maintenance department is focused improving our maintenance program across 10 projects geographically spread across Australia. It is imperative that the company processes and procedures around assets cost control are providing value adding information on the key cost drivers and are understood by the stakeholders;
  • You will monitor and measure asset transactions against their relevant budget and life cycle costs, provide assistance and training where you identify areas for improvement and regularly report on this performance;
  • With at least 2 years relevant experience in a business analysis or cost accounting discipline coupled ideally with a degree in accounting or engineering, you will use your advanced data analysis skills to efficiently communicate your findings to the relevant people within our business.

ABOUT YOU

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in an accounting, finance or engineering discipline;
  • Advanced data analysis skills in Excel and enterprise Business Intelligence tools such as Qlik Sense and Power BI;
  • Willingness to travel to remote locations on occasion to develop our project teams and support staff knowledge and understanding of cost control;
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, Pronto, etc. a minimum requirement, while experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX/DaxEAM (Dynamics 365) is highly desirable;
  • Be self-motivated and results driven;
  • Previous experience in a cost accounting or business analyst role;
  • A working knowledge of the underground hardrock mining industry with experience in a contracting organisation is an advantage, but not essential;
  • Understanding of a plant rate based accounting system for assets within a contracting or OEM environment.
