The Company
Galaxy Resources Limited is an ASX listed lithium-focused resources company, with assets spanning Australia, Canada and Argentina. The Company owns the Mt Cattlin Spodumene Mine near Ravensthorpe in Western Australia.
The Mt Cattlin mine is an open pit mine providing ore feed to the recently expanded and refurbished 1.6 million ton per annum capacity processing plant.
The role
The company has residential based role for a Process Operator to join the established team at the Mt Cattlin operations. Mt Cattlin provides a very pleasant work location near the south coast of WA with the nearby towns of Ravensthorpe and Hopetoun that offer an inviting combination of rural and coastal lifestyle.
Your responsibilities as a Process Operator will be for the safe and efficient running of the process plant. This will require your absolute commitment to working safely, complying with all site safety standards and ensuring a safe and environmentally healthy workplace. The work is on a 12-hour rotating shift on an 8/6 – 9/5 roster to ensure the maximum production quantity and quality.
You will have:
The key activities and responsibilities you will have as a Process Operator reporting to the Shift Supervisor at the Mt Cattlin spodumene processing plant are:
- Monitor and control plant operations for target production and quality
- Assemble and dismantle equipment and fittings in ore-processing plant
- Operate processing plants and maintain records using manual and computer-based systems
- Mix ore-treating materials
- Anticipate and address process and technical problems in a timely manner and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Participate in projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs
- Take samples of materials for testing/QA
- Clean, wash and maintain equipment and processing facilities and participate in preventive maintenance activities as required
- Communicate with colleagues from other areas e.g. Maintenance to ensure process operations are effectively supported
- National Police Clearance - or be willing to obtain

Ideally you will have at least 3 years of minerals processing operation experience. You should also have strong attention to detail and be mechanically minded.
