The Opportunity – Mine Planning Engineer

Based at the Innovation Campus, the Mine Planning Engineer design, schedule and communicate the medium-term plan for the Operations to enable safe, efficient Mining, Processing and Logistic Activities.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Develop and review mine designs, rates and integrated schedules that maintain predictable, stable levels of production performance
  • Engage relevant stakeholders and communicate operatable work plans/ schedules from 6 months to 5 years
  • Work with Operational teams to gather planning inputs/ constraints and gain endorsement of plans and schedules
  • Track non- compliance
  • Identify and provide guidance on critical path task required to facilitate safe and efficient production
  • Practice and audit planning standards and procedures aligned to the Management Operating System (MOS)
  • Provide assessment of labour, equipment and materials for the mid-term plan
  • Facilitate the handover of the Production Forecast to the Operational teams

About You

  • Bachelor of Engineering- Mining
  • NSW Underground Coal Statutory Qualification (desired)
  • Experience in one or all the following XPAC/ Deswik, AutoCAD/ CAD
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
  • 5 years operational experience in an Underground Coal Mine
  • 5 years’ experience in planning/ scheduling
  • Ability to communicate to stakeholders across various levels of the business
